The Twisted Metal video game franchise will always hold a soft spot in this 90s kid’s heart. It was one of the first games I ever own on the Playstation One, combining the combat tournament aspect of Mortal Kombat with a demolition derby. Except in these games, you don’t use your fists to battle opponents, you drive around in kick-arse vehicles armed with ballistic projectiles, machine guns, mines, and other types of deathly destruction.
